Pen & Prayer Journal Club: Guided Prayer Journaling and Monthly Zoom Fellowship

Have you ever opened your prayer journal, picked up your pen, and suddenly had no idea what to write?

You want to spend meaningful time with God. However, the empty page can make prayer journaling feel harder than it should. You may write for a few days, miss a week, and then struggle to begin again.

Pen & Prayer Journal Club was created to help you move beyond that blank page.

This is a guided prayer journaling community for adults who want to strengthen their faith, become more consistent in prayer, and connect with others who are growing alongside them. You do not need to be an experienced writer. You simply need a journal, a pen, and a desire to spend more intentional time with God.

Your next journal entry could be the beginning of a stronger, more consistent prayer life. Join Pen & Prayer and let’s fill those pages together.

Write Your Prayers and Strengthen Your Faith

Prayer journaling gives you a place to slow down and pay attention to what is happening in your heart.

When you write your prayers, you can express thoughts that may be difficult to say aloud. You can record the questions you are asking God, the needs you are bringing before Him, and the Scriptures that are speaking to your current season.

Over time, your journal also becomes a record of God’s faithfulness. You can look back and remember prayers He answered, situations He changed, and moments when He gave you strength to keep going.

Pen & Prayer helps you make this practice part of your regular spiritual life.

What Happens in the Pen & Prayer Journal Club?

Pen & Prayer is more than a list of journaling prompts. It is a welcoming community where we write, pray, reflect, and prepare our hearts for the month ahead.

Our monthly Zoom gatherings include:

  • Guided prayer journal prompts
  • Quiet time to write and reflect
  • Meaningful group conversation
  • Shared encouragement
  • Scripture-based reflection
  • Focused prayer for the coming month
  • Practical ideas for staying consistent

Every gathering gives you a starting point. Instead of wondering what to write, you will receive thoughtful prompts that help you examine your life, recognize your spiritual needs, and place the coming month before God.

You will not be pressured to share anything private. Your journal remains your personal space. You may participate in the conversation at the level that feels comfortable for you.

You Do Not Have to Be a Good Writer

Prayer journaling is not about perfect grammar, beautiful handwriting, or filling several pages every day.

It is simply an honest conversation between you and God.

Some days, you may write an entire page. On other days, your entry may be one sentence:

“Lord, give me the strength to face what is ahead today.”

That sentence is still a prayer. It still matters.

Pen & Prayer will help you release the pressure to write something impressive. Instead, you will learn to write honestly, reflect carefully, and pray faithfully.

Begin Each Month With Prayer and Purpose

A new month often arrives before we have taken time to process the previous one.

We carry unfinished responsibilities, unanswered questions, private disappointments, and new expectations into the next month. Without reflection, those concerns can become mental and spiritual clutter.

During our Pen & Prayer Zoom gathering, we will pause and consider questions such as:

  • What am I carrying into this new month?
  • What do I need to release?
  • Where do I need God’s guidance?
  • Who has God placed on my heart to pray for?
  • What Scripture will guide me this month?
  • What answered prayer do I need to remember?
  • Where have I noticed God working?

These prompts will help you enter the month with greater clarity. More importantly, they will remind you that you do not have to face the month in your own strength.

Find Encouragement in Community

Prayer journaling is personal, but it does not have to be lonely.

Sometimes we need to hear that another person is also struggling to remain consistent. We need encouragement from people who understand that spiritual growth does not always happen in a straight line.

Pen & Prayer provides a place to have those conversations.

Together, we will talk about prayer, faith, journaling, and the experiences shaping our lives. We will celebrate progress, encourage one another through difficult seasons, and pray for the concerns we are comfortable sharing.

This is not a place for judgment or spiritual competition. It is a place to grow, write, pray, and move forward together.

What Do You Need to Participate?

You do not need expensive supplies or a specially designed journal.

Bring:

  • A journal or notebook
  • Your favorite pen
  • A Bible or Bible app
  • A quiet place to join the Zoom gathering
  • An open heart

You may use a traditional prayer journal, a simple spiral notebook, or one of the free prayer journal templates available from Get-Prayer.com.

The most important step is showing up and being willing to begin.

Who Should Join Pen & Prayer?

Pen & Prayer Journal Club may be right for you if:

  • You want to become more consistent in prayer.
  • You often struggle with what to write.
  • You have started journals but stopped using them.
  • You want Scripture-based journaling prompts.
  • You want to prepare for each month through prayer.
  • You would enjoy encouraging conversation with other believers.
  • You need a regular space to pause and reconnect with God.

Whether you are beginning your first prayer journal or returning after a long break, you are welcome.

Your Prayer Journal Can Become Part of Your Testimony

The pages you write today may become the testimony you read tomorrow.

One day, you may look back at a prayer written during a difficult season and realize that God carried you through it. You may discover that an unanswered prayer redirected your life. You may also notice spiritual growth that was difficult to recognize while it was happening.

That is one of the gifts of prayer journaling. It allows you to remember.

Psalm 77:11 says, “I will remember the works of the Lord: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.”

Your journal can help you remember what God has done, recognize what He is doing, and trust Him with what comes next.
