I haven’t shared any journal entry prompts with you all lately, so let’s change that with five fresh prompts for the upcoming week.
As mid-July settles in, young adults begin packing for college, and school buses start rolling out earlier than they used to. When I was growing up, school didn’t start until after Labor Day—seeing buses in August still feels strange.
This month invites us to pause between summer’s intensity and the quiet anticipation of fall. July holds a unique energy—it signals transition. Gardens ripen with purpose, vacation rhythms slow us down, and subtle shifts stir within our hearts. Spiritually, July beckons us to prune distractions, embrace stillness, and prepare for renewal. As we step toward autumn’s fresh chapters, this season of preparation becomes sacred.
So let’s lean into that movement and update our Prayer Journals with prompts that inspire reflection and joy. These journal entry prompts will help you look back on summer with intention and forward with faith.

Prayer Journal Entry Prompts: Happiness In Focus
- July 14: Reflect on the blessings of this summer so far. What moments have brought you joy, peace, or a sense of God’s presence? Write a prayer of thanks for these experiences.
- July 15: Think about areas in your life where you feel called to grow or change. What might God be asking you to prune or let go of in this season? Ask for guidance and strength in your prayer.
- July 16: Consider the people in your life who may need encouragement or prayer. Write their names in your journal and lift them up to God, asking for His love and provision in their lives.
- July 17: Reflect on the transitions happening around you—whether in nature, your community, or your own heart. How can you embrace this season of preparation with faith and trust? Write a prayer for clarity and readiness.
- July 18: Look ahead to the coming weeks. What are you hoping for, and how can you invite God into your plans? Write a prayer of surrender, asking for His will to guide your steps.
If one of these prompts has stirred something in your heart—whether a burden, a breakthrough, or simply a longing to draw nearer to God—we’d love to join you in prayer. You can share your prayer request anytime by visiting get-prayer.com. It’s a space where your voice is heard and a praying community lifts your faith. Let’s walk through this season together.
