Looking for a job in 2025 is so stressful. Job advertisements can serve as a hope you’ll get an interview while others remind us how much more companies are looking for from future employees.
I get it. I’m there. I’m so there.
As a government contractor, I go through this at least once a year or ever six months. It’s nothing wrong on my side, it’s the contract changes. Recently I was in a company who rearranged their internal operations because they discovered people were not working. Guess who’s the first to go? You guessed it: Contractors.
When I started government contracting 10 years ago, my mind was everywhere. Last year I was unemployed for seven months. Seven! Then God spoke: “Are you being taken care of? If so, what have I not done for you?” “That’s when I remembered I’m not the Provider, God is. I always knew that, but sometimes God has to remind us right? He is the Provider and we are those who use the provision.

If You’re Looking For a Job, This Prayer Is For You
Heavenly Father, we come to You today with humble hearts, asking for Your divine intervention for those who are looking for a job. We’re tired, stressed, frustrated, feeling like we don’t measure up. Even I look at these jobs like, “I don’t have what it takes.” Help us know there is a good fitting job out there. Fill them with hope and courage in their search. Grant them the wisdom to recognize opportunities and the perseverance to keep going despite the challenges. May they find strength in Your word, as You remind us in Philippians 4:19, that You will supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory. Surround them with encouragement and support, and may they always feel Your presence guiding them toward the right path. Amen.
