Finding Faith means leaning in to Jesus while fighting anxiety. Today we travel to Philippians 4:6–7.
Fighting anxiety can feel like a never-ending battle. It sneaks into our thoughts when we least expect it, keeping us awake at night and distracted during the day. It can make small issues feel like impossible problems. If you’ve walked through seasons of constant worry, you know the toll it takes on your mind, heart, and even your body. But God hasn’t left you without help. He’s given you a clear way to push back when fear tries to take over.

Bible Reading to Consider
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:6–7
Standing Firm in the Battle of Fighting Anxiety
When life closes in, fighting anxiety isn’t about pretending problems don’t exist. It’s about transferring the weight from your shoulders to God’s capable hands. The peace of God isn’t manufactured by willpower—it’s received when you surrender your control. Scripture tells us His peace will guard your heart and mind like a soldier on duty, refusing to let fear camp inside you.
Fighting anxiety means making intentional choices. Every time you pray instead of panic, you push back against fear. Every time you thank God instead of complain, you strengthen your defenses. You can either wrestle in your own power or hand the battle to the One who’s never lost. When you put His promises on repeat until your heart believes them, you stand in victory even before the situation changes.
Fighting Anxiety Through Liturgy
- Call: “When anxiety tells me the storm will never end…”
Response: “I trust the One who speaks peace to the storm.” - Call: “When my mind feels like a battlefield…”
Response: “I let God’s Word be my weapon and my shield.” - Call: “When fear says I’m on my own…”
Response: “God is with me, and He will not fail.”
