We are praying for UNLV Students are working to get back on track as they cope with the horror that attacked their campus earlier this week. It has been reported by media three people were killed and one wounded in a shooting on campus on December 6th. The suspect was killed by responding officers and there is no ongoing threat. The university will remain closed for the week and a decision on reopening next week is pending.
According to reports, a prayer service was held at St. Viator Catholic Church that memorialized the people who were lost as a result of the shooting. And through all of this, students still have to wrap up the year. Some may have to do finals, and everyone is getting ready for the holiday season, a season that will feel different this year. As a father, this is heartbreaking to read about, and I’m sure the pain is overwhelming.
Join us in praying for UNLV Students as they work to get back on track.

Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with heavy hearts and deep sorrow as we lift up the University of Nevada, Las Vegas community in prayer. We humbly ask for Your divine comfort and strength to surround the grieving hearts of those affected by the tragic events that unfolded on their campus.
We specifically pray for the families and loved ones of the three faculty members who lost their lives in this senseless act of violence. We ask that You would wrap Your loving arms around them during this season of profound grief. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, be their refuge and solace.
We also lift up the faculty member who was injured, that Your healing touch would be upon them. Grant them physical healing, strength, and a renewed sense of hope as they navigate the path to recovery. May they be a testament to Your miraculous power and love.
Lord, we pray for the entire UNLV community as they grapple with the shock and aftermath of this tragedy. Surround them with Your comforting presence and provide them with the support and resources they need to heal and move forward. We ask for solidarity and unity among the students, faculty, and staff as they support one another in this time of collective mourning.
We present to You the suspect who perpetrated this violence, knowing that Your justice is perfect and Your mercy knows no bounds. We pray for discernment and wisdom for the authorities investigating this incident, that they may uncover the truth. May justice be served according to Your divine plan.
Lastly, Heavenly Father, we ask that You strengthen the bonds of faith within the University of Nevada, Las Vegas community. Help them find solace in Your loving presence and draw closer to You during this difficult time. Guide them in reclaiming their sense of security and peace, trusting that You are their ultimate source of hope and restoration.
In Jesus’ precious name, we pray.
Amen.
Stay strong UNLV.
