Finding Faith today means confessing you’re still hurting from broken friendships. How do we face this pain? We travel to Psalm 6:6-9.
I have a friend who started a business. At first, the people around him seemed like good people to help with the business. Later on it would be revealed they were not the best of people to have engaging in his dream. Months later, he’s turned the company around and it’s making some income. Praise God! However, he is still hurt. I do not feel he can get over it. They hurt him so bad. They talked about them as they were let go, they attacked him on social media. Everything he does now is a slight to them. He is constantly trying to show them how they were wrong and “look at me now.” Maybe you’re still hurting like he is.

You’re Hurting Because It’s Human, And That’s Ok
Lots of times we suppress our pain and decide there’s no time to address it. But when you’re still hurting from broken friendships, lost opportunities in life that can lead to other issues like overeating, bad attitudes, stress and depression. Even worse, you begin to not trust no one around you. Furthermore you want your pain justified in time where people may have gone on with their lives, leaving you still waiting for validation. That hurts too doesn’t it? You can build everything back with God and it will be better.
There’s a lot of thoughts going through your mind: “They need to apologize! They need to admit what they did!” Here’s the truth: You might be waiting for a long time. I’ve learned to do this: Forgive, move on. God saw it too. He will deal with it. Until then you get into your Word. That’s why I’m suggesting Psalm 6:6-9 which reads:
“I am worn out from my groaning.
All night long I flood my bed with weeping
and drench my couch with tears.
My eyes grow weak with sorrow;
they fail because of all my foes.
Away from me, all you who do evil,
for the Lord has heard my weeping.
The Lord has heard my cry for mercy;
the Lord accepts my prayer.”
This Is My Prayer For You If You’re Hurting Still
Lord Jesus, time is a funny thing. We live this story of ups and downs and talk about the scars along the way but they still hurt. I look back at memories from 20 years ago and it still hurts, still makes me mad. I crave justice but I know you’ve but me in a better place. Help me forgive and move on even if I feel it’s not fair to the memory. Let me take my pain and turn it into praise today as I finish this week and start another weekend you’ve blessed me to see. Amen.
