Happy Monday! A new week is here, and that means a new chance to start again with God leading the way. Some Mondays feel full of energy, and others start a little slow. Either way, God’s Word gives us the reminder we need to steady our hearts and focus on His goodness. Today’s verse comes from Nahum 1:7: “The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him.”

God Is Good, Even on Mondays
Let’s be honest. Mondays aren’t always easy. The weekend’s peace fades fast, and suddenly the to-do list is calling. But Nahum 1:7 gives us the reminder we need right up front: God is good, no matter what kind of Monday it is. He’s good when the week looks smooth, and He’s good when it feels like a mess before noon.
When you start your Monday prayers with that truth, it changes how you see the day. You’re not walking into the week alone. You’re walking with a God who knows exactly what’s coming and promises to be with you through it all. Just whisper, “Lord, I trust You,” and let that be your starting point.

Finding Refuge When Life Feels Busy
We all need a place to rest, not just physically, but in our hearts. Nahum 1:7 says God is our refuge. That means He’s where you can go when your thoughts feel scattered or your spirit feels heavy. You can find peace with Him anywhere, in your car, at your kitchen table, or during a quiet moment before work.
As I always say about prayer so goes this one too: Your Monday prayers don’t have to be fancy. You don’t need the perfect words. Just talk to God like you would to a close friend. Something as simple as “Lord, help me stay calm today” can shift your whole attitude. God already knows what’s weighing on you, and He’s ready to help you carry it.

Trusting the God Who Cares
Nahum 1:7 ends with one of the most comforting promises in all of Scripture: “He cares for those who trust in Him.” That means He sees you, He hears you, and He’s walking with you right now. When you trust Him, you’re saying, “God, I believe You’re in control, even when I’m not.”
You might see His care in small things today: a smile from a friend, a quiet moment of peace, or just enough strength to make it through the day. None of that is random. That’s God showing you He’s right there.
As you go through this week, keep coming back to that truth. Trusting God isn’t just for big moments, it’s for the everyday stuff too. Let Him be your calm in the middle of whatever this week brings.
A Simple Monday Prayer
“Father, thank You for this new week. Thank You for being good, for being my refuge, and for caring for me even when life feels uncertain. As I go into this Monday, quiet my worries and remind me that You’re in control. Help me to trust You today and find peace in Your presence. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
