My Wednesday prayer for work started with a simple but deep question:
What’s a moment that made you realize you were stronger than you thought? (This prompt made me think lol…) For me, the answer wasn’t about a promotion or a breakthrough job, it was about something deeper.
It was the moment Christ made me stronger than unemployment, stress, fear, anxiety… and everything that comes with uncertainty. If you’re searching for a Wednesday prayer for work, you might be in one of two places right now:
- You have a job, but it’s not fulfilling
- Or you’re looking for a job and feeling the pressure
I’ve been in both.

When Work Doesn’t Work Out
Recently, I stepped into a new job that I truly enjoyed. It felt like progress. It felt like I was finally closing a financial gap.
But my health had other plans. Even though I wanted to keep going, my body couldn’t keep up with the pace. I asked for a change, hoping something would shift, but nothing did.
And just like that, everything I thought was stabilizing… disappeared. That financial gap I thought I had closed opened right back up.
The Moment Everything Became Clear
What surprised me most wasn’t the setback, it was my response. I wasn’t overwhelmed. I wasn’t consumed by stress. My wife and kids saw the physical toll it was taking on me. Then came confirmation.
The very next day, my quad muscles gave out. As I tried to start my day, I collapsed to the floor. And in that moment, something unexpected happened.
I didn’t panic.or call for help.
Crazy enough, I just lay there… at peace.
I knew I had made the right decision. No stress. No depression. Just clarity. I got up, sat in my favorite chair, and realized something had changed inside me.

How God Builds Strength in Uncertain Seasons
This wasn’t the first time God had shifted my perspective. I remembered sitting in my office one day, frustrated about my finances, when I felt Him ask me:
“Are your lights on?”
Yes.
“Do you have internet? Water? Food?”
Yes.
Then came the question that stopped me completely:
“What is it that I have not done for you?”
I had no answer.
Because the truth is simple:
I am only able to produce what God provides.
That realization changed everything.

Wednesday Prayer for Work
If you’re feeling uncertain about your job, your finances, or your future, this Wednesday prayer for work is for you:
Well Lord, it’s your favorite Outlaw Preacher again….
As I was writing this I don’t even know if I answered the question correctly. The prompt really brought back core memories, but my perspective is so different now. You’ve bought me into 2026 with a different look on everything I’m experiencing. Even I, someone who has preached Your Word for 20+ years realizes that I need that moment to remember you’re there.
Forgive me for the distractions Father, for I too am only human, called to Your purpose and trusts Your plan, even when I don’t understand it. Am I hurt Lord my job didn’t work out? Yes. Am I destroyed? No. For Your Word says 2 Corinthians 4: 8-9, “..We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed…” I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, through the intervention of the Holy Spirit someone reads this post and is inspired to keep going.
Amen.

You Are Stronger Than You Think
This Wednesday prayer for work isn’t just about finding a job, it’s about recognizing the strength God is building in you right now. Even when things fall apart, when the plan changes, and when the outcome isn’t what you expected…
God is still providing and you’re producing faith. Chin up, because you are stronger than you think because He is with you.
Final Thought
If you take anything from this today, let it be this: You’re not just working toward something.
God is working in you. Sometimes, that’s the greater miracle.
