How do you deal with uncertainty? Well, after 20 years of preaching God’s Word you’d think my answer is obvious! But it’s not. I’m human just like you are. However, I’ve learned to lean into the God that I serve day by day.
We all have those times where we’re not sure. It’s the moments where even at our best we’re whispering in our minds, “Is this really the way?” I’ve been there more than enough times to let you know today if you don’t have a strong prayer life you’re going to make a mistake or mistakes.

What Did Jesus Say?
Jesus Christ gets to the guts of the matter when he says this as per Matthew 6:25:
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
Accepting Jesus Christ as Lord means it will rain, but it will not rain on your faith and knowing the Sun does return to shine on you. Here’s a link to more verses on worry that I found too.
How Do You Feel With Uncertainty? Just Pushing Through Sometimes!
I can recall a time where the Lord was calling me and my wife to move North. As we we went about getting ready, everything was difficult. There was the packing, the appraisal, the photos needed for the listing, everything seemed messy. People were rattled. I, being a person who has walked with the Lord more than enough to know the mess is the mission, encouraged everyone to keep going.
Now, you read that last sentence and was like, “This dude is making himself out to be the hero.” Far from it friend! The entire time the uncertainty was there! My nervousness and stress was taking over and all I knew was to pray and to speak encouragement into my family. As a result, we had 13 offers, two of which were cash offers. We were relieved and praised God.
I try to remember this:
Fear stops you. Discouragement slows you down.
In the middle of the journey uncertainty becomes the hater of progress. That’s why I am so deep into promoting prayer journaling. If you’re here and are looking to strengthen your prayer life, check out our prayer journal resources. You can also join my paid subscription crew : Pen and Prayer.
So when someone asks, how do you feel with uncertainty? You can share some of these ideas with him or her and encourage their walk with Jesus Christ.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
In the midst of uncertainty, we come before You seeking solace and strength. Life often leads us down paths shrouded in fog, where clarity feels out of reach. We ask for Your guidance, Lord, as we navigate these moments of doubt and apprehension. Remind us that You are our steadfast rock, a fortress in times both joyous and troubling.
Help us to lean into Your promises, trusting that You hold our future securely in Your hands. When fear tries to creep into our hearts, fill us instead with a sense of peace that surpasses all understanding. May we cast our worries upon You, knowing that You care deeply for us and walk beside us through every trial.
Lord, grant us patience as we wait for answers, and the wisdom to recognize Your voice amidst the noise of this world. Let us turn to prayer as our first response, not our last resort, fostering a deep relationship with You that strengthens our resolve. Help us to be encouraged as we witness Your faithfulness, both in our lives and in the lives of those around us.
As we navigate the unknown, teach us to look for Your hand at work in our circumstances, transforming our doubts into testimonies of Your goodness. May we encourage one another in faith, sharing our struggles and victories so that together we can lift our eyes towards You, the author and perfecter of our faith.
In all things, Lord, we submit our fears and uncertainties to You. We trust in Your divine purpose, knowing that even in the darkest moments, Your light shines brighter. Thank You for being our anchor and our hope. In Jesus’ name, we pray,
Amen.
Hope this helps someone. Be encouraged.
