Finding Faith begins each evening waiting on God—not with fireworks or fanfare, but with a quiet breath and a prayer that dares to hope. Tonight, we’re praying for those who feel like they’ve been put on hold by Heaven. You’ve asked begged. You’ve even tried bargaining (don’t worry, we’ve all been there). And still—nothing. Psalm 13 is where we land tonight.
July 28: The Long Pause: Let’s talk about the spiritual elephant in the room: waiting on God can feel like being ghosted by the divine. You’re checking your spiritual inbox for a reply, and all you get is…crickets. You start wondering if your prayers got lost in the cloud. Maybe you even start rewriting them, thinking, “Was I too vague? Should I have used more biblical language?”
But here’s the truth: God’s silence isn’t absence. It’s not punishment, but mystery. And yeah, mystery is frustrating.

When You’re Hanging by a Thread Called Faith
You might be holding on with one hand and a half-hearted “amen.”
Psalm 13 gets it:
“How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart?”
David didn’t sugarcoat it. He didn’t slap a “God’s got this!” sticker on his pain. He asked the hard questions. And that’s faith, too.
Finding Faith in the Stillness: A Moment of Prayer
Let’s pray—not for instant answers, but for presence in the pause.
- Call: Waiting on God isn’t weakness. It’s the kind of strength that shows up even when nothing makes sense.
- Response: God waits with us and sits beside every soul who tires of asking. Hold the questions. Honor the ache. Speak when it’s time.
- Call: For those who feel forgotten, For those who are barely holding on— May peace come quietly. May love stay loud.
- Response: In You, we are not abandoned. In You, the silence is sacred. In You, we still believe.
Amen.
Bible Reading to Consider While Waiting on God
- Psalm 13:1–2 – Honest questions. Raw emotion. And still, a flicker of trust.
- Isaiah 40:31 – “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength…” (Yes, even when it feels like your strength is on backorder.)
Final Thought: You’re Not Crazy. You’re Just Human.
Waiting on God doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong. It means you’re in the middle of something holy. Something hard. Something real. If tonight feels heavy, let it. You don’t have to fake peace to find it.
