When we talk about honoring those who’ve worn the uniform, we’re not just talking about waving flags or saying “thank you.” We’re talking about prayer: Powerful, intentional prayer that moves hearts and changes lives.
That’s why I want to invite you into something special: The Veteran Prayer Challenge, a downloadable Christian prayer journal created to guide you in lifting up veterans by name before the throne of grace.
Inside this simple but meaningful journal, you’ll find space to record the date, name, and branch of service for each person you pray for. As you fill in each page, you’ll build a record of gratitude, faith, and intercession, one that honors God and those who’ve served.

Why This Challenge Matters
Freedom is never free. It’s been secured by men and women who gave their strength, their youth, and in many cases, their peace of mind. Some of those heroes still fight silent battles long after their service ends.
And that’s where prayer comes in. Prayer reaches where comfort can’t. It restores where the world falls short. It renews hearts in ways only God can.

A Prayer for Veterans Day
Heavenly Father,
Today we pause to remember and give thanks for the men and women who have served our nation with courage, honor, and sacrifice. You are the Lord of justice, mercy, and peace, and we lift up every veteran into Your mighty hands.
Lord, for those who carry wounds both seen and unseen, bring Your healing. For those who struggle to find peace after battle, speak calm to their hearts. For those still serving far from home, cover them with Your protection and let them feel Your presence even in the darkest hours.
We thank You for the families who stood beside them, for their strength, patience, and faith. Let Your blessings flow over every home touched by military service.
God, remind us that freedom is not free but a gift purchased with sacrifice. May we never take lightly what others have given deeply. Stir our hearts to honor them not just in words but through prayer, support, and love.
We ask this in the name of Jesus, our ultimate Defender, our Prince of Peace, and our eternal hope.
Amen.
