Finding Faith: Trusting God’s Guidance (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Finding faith today means trusting God’s guidance when He calls for you to move to another state. Today, we travel to a familiar place: Proverbs 3:5-6. When was the last time I got excited? It was when we did this. I’ve been living in excitement ever since!

A few years ago me and my family were unsettled where we lived. We enjoyed it, but we could not grow socially or spiritually anymore. The four of us – Me, my wife of 24 years, and my two sons, prayed and realized it was time to leave Virginia and move to Pennsylvania. My wife has family up here and we all enjoyed the state. We love mountains. Not knocking the beach life we had lived for decades, we were just ready for a change. This is where trusting God’s guidance comes into play.

Monday morning prayer that will get you up and going

Trust Me, Let God Lead You

Once we made the decision to leave Virginia, the Lord shut my mouth for six months. Me and my wife scanned our Facebook page and asked, “Who will stay with us on this next journey?” We vetted our FB friends, didn’t talk about the move until it was time. When we moved, it was like a Thanos Snap. The excitement was high in my family. The thought of something new, a bigger house, new opportunities. It was such a big year!

It was exciting to us because it was also refreshing. We learned that in trusting God’s guidance, we stepped into “The Different” – something so great beyond our expectations. We are thankful for His blessings and understanding. Proverbs 3: 5-6 states, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Well, we did just that, and the excitement for what’s next has not ended.

If you’re in this season of life where you’re deciding whether to leave or stay, trusting God’s guidance is the ONLY thing you need to do. He’ll show you what to do and how to do it.

Trusting God’s Guidance: A Prayer For You

From an Outlaw Preacher. I’m not black enough for some, not White Enough For Others, thus being the reason I’m an Outlaw. Just follow Jesus Christ.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being the One who sees further than our eyes can see and knows better than our hearts can understand. When You call us to step out into the unfamiliar, we confess that fear often rises and questions swirl. Yet today we want to rest in the promise that if we trust You with all our heart, You will direct our path.

Lord, for the one standing at a crossroads, unsure whether to stay or to go, let Your peace settle in. Remind them that obedience is never wasted and that every move made in Your will carries blessing. Where doors need to close, close them firmly. Where new doors await, open them wide.

We ask for courage when the journey feels uncertain, joy when the change feels overwhelming, and strength when the road seems too long. May each step forward be marked by faith, not fear, and may every decision reflect a heart that trusts Your guidance.

Thank You, Jesus, for walking before us, beside us, and behind us. We gladly follow wherever You lead, knowing that the excitement of Your plans far outweighs the comfort of our own. In Your strong and faithful name we pray, Amen.
