Pray to be kind to a world hurting on the inside. What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever done when no one was watching? Encouraged a kid with no friends online as we did a dungeon run. Hear me out: I do not do a lot of talking to kids because it’s 2026 and everyone should be speaking with their own age groups online. It’s a safety thing for me.
As VR Gamer, I have a lot of rules to what I share online and who I deal with. This time, the Lord gave me a different assignment. It’s one that I rarely get: Do not leave the lobby, play with this kid. Huh? Nah not my deal. God said it again, “Just give me a few minutes of your time”. In my trust and obedience to God and not my feelings, we waited and then I said, “Hey, you wanna do the run?” He was thrilled. He asked me not to leave the lobby over and over and I assured him after 10 minutes I was going nowhere.

Pray To Be Kind: It Was More Than A Game
As we began our Dungeon run, things were going good. Guy was beast on the floors! It was a joy to watch. As we played I heard his father in the background who asked, “Are you playing with someone?”
“Yeah! I met this guy!”
Oh God please be with me.
“Yeah he’s nice and we’ve been playing for while.”
I turn my mic on: “Yes Sir, everything is going good. I rarely do this, but I felt it was right.”
The father replies: “Yes, THANK YOU. He doesn’t have any friends online and people make fun of him. Thank you for your kindness. What do you do?”
“I’m a Pastor.”
“Really? Oh wow!”
Yeah, I was knee deep in killing a giant spider when I said that. If you were wondering haha. “I figured you had to be a Christian man. The way you spoke I could just feel something different.” And there you go: No Bible verses, nothing. Just a Pastor caught up in a dungeon run having a great time with a kid that needed it.
On the real, I needed it too. But still, I don’t play with kids. That was truly the Spirit of God that came through and gave me that assignment for that moment.
Soon after he went on to another lobby and I went my way. The father thanked me again and was so thrilled his son was enjoying himself. As a father of two sons, now grown and moving along just fine, I pray his fatherhood journey is just as blessed.

Let’s Pray To Be Kind: We Represent God’s Kingdom
Lord, thank you for the experience I had with that father and son, and I pray that I was a great representation of who you desire for me to be in your Kingdom. I pray Father that everyone who you call to do your work trust your Call and respond in trust and obedience.
Gratitude for the Encounter
Heavenly Father, I come before you today with a heart full of deep gratitude. Thank you for the meaningful experience I shared with that father and son. Lord, you orchestrate our daily steps and place people in our paths for a divine purpose. I pray that my words, actions, and attitude were a true and shining representation of who you desire me to be in your Kingdom. May my life point them closer to your endless grace and unfailing love.
Prayer for Others to Serve
Father, I lift up a broader prayer for your Kingdom’s work. I pray that everyone whom you call to serve steps forward with courage. Soften hearts to hear your gentle whispers. Remove the heavy chains of doubt, fear, and hesitation that hold people back from stepping into your service. Grant them the profound courage they need to trust your call completely.

A Call to Obedience
Help them to respond not with delay or skepticism, but with immediate trust and active obedience. Let your Holy Spirit guide their hands and feet as they labor in your harvest fields. Strengthen the weary, embolden the timid, and unite believers everywhere in purpose. May our collective obedience bring immense glory to your holy name. We surrender our plans to your perfect will today and always. Amen.
