This Sunday evening, Fifth Third Field will take on a new role. Instead of cheers for the Toledo Mud Hens, the air will fill with worship, prayer, and celebration. Faith in the Stadium will bring pastors, church leaders, families, and believers together for a night devoted to God and unity in Toledo.
Right after the Mud Hens finish their home game, the stadium will shift from a sports venue to a place of praise. Over 200 choir members will lead songs of faith, joined by what organizers expect could be more than 1,000 voices from the crowd. The event will not highlight just one church. Instead, it will show the strength of Toledo’s faith community when it comes together.
Bishop Pat McKinstry, a key leader for the event, calls the gathering a “Kingdom moment.” He says it is a chance to pray for Toledo’s schools, families, youth, churches, and community programs. “We are asking God to cover this city with His peace and power,” McKinstry explained.
The choice of Fifth Third Field is both symbolic and practical. It is a place where Toledo gathers regularly. Using such a familiar location sends a strong message: The church is active, visible, and alive in the heart of the city. This night is more than a special program. It is a declaration that unity in Christ has the power to change lives and inspire hope. At a time when division often dominates the news, Faith in the Stadium will remind everyone that when believers stand together, love multiplies, and the city notices.
Prayer for the Gathering at Fifth Third Field
Heavenly Father,
Today, Fifth Third Field becomes more than a stadium. It becomes a place where hearts join in unity, praise, and purpose. Pastors, families, leaders, and children gather here, drawn by Your Spirit, to lift one voice in worship. They give thanks, knowing that every breath, every song, and every prayer belongs to You.
Lord, let the music, the words, and the quiet prayers rise like incense before You. May the echoes reach beyond these walls—into homes, schools, and every corner of Toledo. Spread peace, healing, and renewed hope like sunlight after the storm.
They bring before You the needs of the community. Bless the schools, students, educators, and families with wisdom and compassion. Protect the children. Guide them in truth and strengthen them for the days ahead. They also lift up churches and ministries. Strengthen their hands, multiply their resources, and deepen their impact. Bless the many who serve quietly and faithfully.
The youth are placed in Your care. Ignite their hearts with faith and compassion. May they lead with humility and courage, showing the world Your love.
Here on this field, they commit to worship together, serve together, and walk together in love. Knit their hearts in unity so their diversity shows the beauty of Your kingdom. Thank You for Faith in the Stadium, for the hands that made it possible, and for Your presence here. Let this night be the spark for lasting change.
Amen.
