Well now, it looks like today’s Tuesday Prayer will speak to those carrying a heavy heart.
I’ve chosen Proverbs 12:25 for today’s reflection because it offers simple but profound wisdom. I’m writing this prayer for heavy hearts because, truthfully, you might run into someone like me today, omeone who still believes in hope but is navigating difficulty.

Not long ago, my van’s battery gave out. At first, I thought it was a fluke. Maybe a door hadn’t closed properly. After jumping the vehicle, I kept moving and thought all was well. However, the problem returned. Eventually, I realized the battery needed to be replaced. Thankfully, the Lord sent help to cover the cost.
Although I was grateful, peace didn’t last long.
Just as I began to feel confident again, I noticed the temperature gauge creeping up. Sure enough, the engine was overheating. In that moment, I couldn’t help but think, “Really, God? I know You see this.” Perhaps you’ve felt the same during your own tough days.
To make matters more stressful, I needed that van for the weekend. I had to take my child back to school. Without a working vehicle, the pressure felt heavier than ever.
Life doesn’t stop brothas and sisters…
Even though God answered my earlier need, my heart still feels heavy. Discouragement has a way of sneaking in, even when solutions are already in motion. You start asking, “Why me?”
But the Lord, in His grace, always speaks. In quiet moments, He reminds me: “Relax. It’s going to be okay. I’ve got this.”
Even today, I woke up at 5 a.m. overwhelmed with worry. Not because I doubt God, but because I’m human. Maybe you’ve been there too, tired but still trusting.
If you’ve met someone like me today, or if you are someone like me, this Tuesday Prayer is for you. It’s not polished, but it’s real. It’s a prayer for heavy hearts, for the ones still waiting, hoping, and needing strength.

Proverbs 12:25, A Word That Lifts the Heart
“Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.” — Proverbs 12:25
This verse speaks a deep truth. Worry has weight. Here’s the deal: It’s invisible, but it pulls at the soul. The heart becomes heavy with fear, stress, and overthinking.
In addition, the second half of the verse brings hope. A kind word, an encouraging truth, can lift that weight. That’s why Scripture matters. That’s why prayer matters. One good word from God can shift everything.
A Tuesday Prayer for Heavy Hearts
Dear Lord,
On this first Tuesday of 2025, I bring You my heavy heart.
This Tuesday Prayer may not be perfect, but You are constant. You hold me together when everything around me feels like it’s falling apart.
Forgive my frustration. You’ve given me all I have. I’m just trying to take care of it the best I can.
From dead batteries to overheating engines, it feels like one thing after another. And still, I know You are near.
I woke up early this morning, worry in my chest. Even though I know You’re faithful, I couldn’t sleep.
Lord, please lift the heaviness. Let Your Word be the kind word that makes my heart glad again.
Help me believe that You’re not finished, and remind me that You haven’t forgotten me.
For anyone else feeling this same weight, show them Your kindness today. Whisper to them that You are in control.
Thank You for Your peace. Thank You for always showing up.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Final Thoughts
This Tuesday Prayer for heavy hearts isn’t just something I wrote, it’s something I lived. And maybe you’re living it too.
In closing Proverbs 12:25 reminds us that anxiety weighs us down, but God’s truth lifts us up. Also keep this in mind: When life feels like too much, remember that even one good word, especially from God, can bring relief.
Keep showing, talking to Him. Keep trusting that even in your frustration, God is still faithful. He sees the worry, and He still says, “I’ve got this.”
You’re not alone. And today, your heart can be lifted.
