Friday brings a welcome change of pace. Many of us finally have a moment to breathe. However, Friday is also an important time to pray for our family and friends. I always want my family and friends to enjoy their time of relaxation, because I do! A little yard work, some hot tub time, yeah, I take advantage of the downtime!
But we know the weekend can get stacked with activity. It can bring travel, celebrations, unexpected decisions, and challenges we cannot predict. Although we cannot follow our loved ones everywhere, God can watch over them wherever they go. That is why a Friday prayer for family and friends helps us place the people we love into God’s capable hands.
Psalm 121:7–8 says:
“The Lord will keep you from all harm. He will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”

Keep them alert while driving and guide them away from dangerous situations. Protect them from accidents, violence, illness, and decisions that could cause lasting harm.
According to Psalm 121, You watch over our coming and going. Therefore, I trust You to go before the people I love. Surround them with Your presence and bring them home safely.

Protect them from distracted and careless drivers. Guide them through difficult weather, heavy traffic, and unfamiliar roads.
