A sudden and ferocious flash flood ravaged Central Texas overnight, transforming peaceful rivers into raging torrents and submerging entire communities. In Kerr County, relentless thunderstorms hammered the region, causing the Guadalupe River to surge dramatically. Wall after wall of water swallowed neighborhoods, forcing emergency crews to launch daring rescues of stranded families, campers, and motorists.
The disaster has already claimed 24 lives. Dozens more remain missing—including children from a local summer camp—while buckled infrastructure and downed communication lines compound the chaos. As the floodwaters recede, officials continue search efforts under a state of emergency, calling this one of the swiftest and deadliest flash floods in Texas history.

A Prayer For Flash Flood Victims
Heavenly Father,
We come to You in prayer as we reflect on the recent flash floods that have impacted so many lives. Lord, we ask for Your mercy and grace to envelop those who have suffered loss during this time. In moments of despair, remind them that You are our safe haven, as stated in Psalm 91:2: “I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
We earnestly pray for the first responders and volunteers being Your hands and feet, helping to repair the destruction caused by these floods. May they be filled with endurance and compassion. Lord, we seek Your provision and hope for those displaced, guiding them through this storm to brighter days ahead.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
