Commit your work to the Lord. That’s the Tuesday prayer for ya. If you’re feeling the pressure of your workload today, you aren’t alone. But there is a better way to navigate your tasks than relying on your own strength. That’s gonna fizzle.
The secret isn’t working harder; it’s working with a partner who never sleeps and never gets overwhelmed. Commit your work to the Lord, and you will find a shift in your productivity and your peace.

The Power of Proverbs 16:3
The Bible gives us a simple, yet life-changing strategy for our professional and personal lives in Proverbs 16:3:
“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”
This isn’t just a nice thought; it is a spiritual principle. When we carry the burden of our to-do list entirely on our own shoulders, we bear the weight of the outcomes, too. That is where the stress comes from. When you commit your work to the Lord, you are essentially inviting Him into your office, your home, and your decision-making process. You are acknowledging that He is the architect, and you are the builder.
How to Commit Your Work to the Lord
If you want to see your plans established today, try these practical steps to anchor your Tuesday in prayer.
1. Start Your Day with a Surrender Prayer
Before you check your first email or step into your first meeting, take a moment to offer your day to God. You don’t need fancy words. Simply say, “Lord, I give this day to You. My plans, my meetings, and my challenges are Yours. Guide my hands and my words.” When you commit your work to the Lord at the start of the day, you set a different tone for everything that follows.
2. Change Your Definition of “Work”
Sometimes we think “work” is only what happens from nine to five. But if you are a student, a parent, a retiree, or someone working on a passion project, your work is your current assignment. Commit your work to the Lordregardless of whether it’s a professional contract or cleaning your kitchen. When you do everything as if you are doing it for Him, your perspective shifts from “getting through the day” to “serving a higher purpose.”
3. Seek His Wisdom in the Midst of Challenges
We all hit walls. Maybe a client is frustrated, a technical issue arises, or you just feel unmotivated. Instead of spiraling into frustration, use that moment as a checkpoint. Ask, “God, how do You want me to handle this?” When you commit your work to the Lord, you have access to a wisdom that is far greater than your own.
A Prayer for Your Tuesday
Heavenly Father, as this Tuesday unfolds, I come before You with a heart full of purpose. I recognize that every task, every project, and every interaction I encounter today is an opportunity to honor You.
I choose to surrender my “to-do” list to You. Instead of relying solely on my own strength or my own limited vision, I invite Your wisdom into my workspace. Whether I am managing complex professional responsibilities or navigating challenging conversations, I commit it all into Your capable hands.
Please grant me clarity of mind as I navigate the hours ahead. When I feel overwhelmed, help me to pause and remember that You are my partner. Replace my anxiety with Your peace. Let the work of my hands be a reflection of Your excellence.
I ask that You establish my plans, not according to my narrow desires, but according to Your perfect purpose. If my focus drifts toward self-advancement or pride, gently redirect my heart toward serving others and glorifying Your name. May every email I send, every decision I make, and every goal I pursue be rooted in integrity and kindness.
Thank You for the strength to show up today. I trust that when I commit my path to You, You will direct my steps and lead me toward the outcome that is best for my life and Your kingdom.
In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray.
Amen.
