According to reports, a cargo ship rammed into Baltimore’s Francis Scott Bridge early Tuesday, causing the span to collapse and rescuers to launch a massive search for at least six people who are missing.
Personnel on the ship alerted the Maryland Department of Transportation that they lost control of the vessel, and officials were able to close the bridge before it was struck, “which undoubtedly saved lives,” President Joe Biden told reporters.

According to a source within the Lewiston police department, a tragic incident – a mass shooting – has claimed the lives of at least 22 individuals. Reports from law enforcement officials indicate that between 50 to 60 people have sustained injuries at various locations, including a local bowling alley. In response to this devastating event, a nearby medical center has declared it a “mass casualty” situation and is mobilizing its resources accordingly. As a precautionary measure, authorities have issued advisories urging residents in both Lewiston and Auburn to seek shelter and remain in place. Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office shared a photo of the alleged gunman on Facebook Wednesday evening, asking for identification help via messenger or email.
Before we go any further, it’s during horrible events like these where “Thoughts and Prayers” are thrown around and those who don’t believe get irate and blast the phrase. Here’s the thing: They’re right to be mad. We should be doing more than just thinking and praying on these things. The Maine shooting is one of many, and it’s an ongoing cycle.
Does the Bible support this? Yes. It is written:
14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
James 2: 14-17
To our politicians, community leaders, parents, guardians who claim Christ, you should, you must, you are called by God’s Word to do more than just think and pray. If we’re going to change this culture, reach people so lost they feel this is the only way to be acknowledged in this world, we need you to exercise your duties unapologetically. Someone knows this person, and they know he needs to be in jail immediately.
Tonight’s Prayer to the Victims and Families of the Lewiston Maine Shooting
Heavenly Father,
In this moment of darkness and despair, we turn to You, the source of our strength and comfort. We come before Your presence with heavy hearts, as we grieve for the loss of life and the suffering of so many in Lewiston. Lord, we ask for Your divine guidance and intervention in this time of tragedy. We lift up the souls of at least 22 individuals who have been tragically taken from us. We pray for Your grace and mercy to embrace them and lead them into Your eternal light. May they find peace and rest in Your loving arms.
We also remember the 50 to 60 people who have been wounded, some of them suffering deeply from the physical and emotional scars of this devastating event. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch to be upon them. Bring comfort to their pain, restore their health, and grant them the strength to overcome this adversity. We pray for the first responders, medical personnel, and all those involved in providing aid and support. Grant them wisdom, strength, and courage as they work tirelessly to save lives and offer solace to the injured and their families.
In the midst of this chaos, we seek Your guidance for the authorities and officials who are working diligently to bring this situation under control. Grant them wisdom in their decision-making and protect the community of Lewiston and Auburn. Lord, we ask for your peace to descend upon these cities, and for the hearts of their residents to be comforted in the knowledge that You are with them, even in the darkest of times. Help them find strength and unity as they support one another through this tragedy. We place our trust in You, Lord, knowing that even in the face of such sorrow and uncertainty, Your love and grace will prevail. May Your light shine in the midst of this darkness, and may it guide us toward a path of healing, reconciliation, and restoration.
The Israel Palestine War is just getting worse and needs all to pray. According to reports, at least 1,200 Israelis have been killed and 3,000 injured after Hamas fighters entered Israel using paragliders, arrived by sea, and land going on a gun rampage in neighborhoods close to the Gaza border fence. An estimated 150 people have been taken as captives by the Palestinian fighters. I’ve been waiting to really put words to paper on this one. What do you say? How do you say it? That’s when we go to prayer and look up to the Father in Heaven.
As you can see, there’s a lot going on on so many fronts. In an age of Internet, everyone is fighting everywhere. We need peace. Will you pray for peace and an end to the Israel Palestine War?

We pray for reconciliation and understanding between these two nations, that they may find a way to coexist peacefully, respecting each other’s rights and aspirations.
As we see the world reacting to this conflict, stirring up further divisions, we pray for a spirit of unity and restraint. Help us, as observers, to approach this situation with empathy, discernment, and a genuine desire to contribute to lasting peace.Guide the leaders, policymakers, and negotiators involved, that they may act with wisdom, justice, and compassion. Empower them to seek sustainable solutions that promote peace, stability, and dignity for all parties involved. Finally, Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention in bringing an end to this conflict. We believe in Your power to transform hearts, heal wounds, and reconcile even the most deeply divided. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, reign in the hearts of those embroiled in this conflict and throughout the entire region.
In the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, we pray. Amen.
The latest Hurricane Hilary updates suggest the hurricane has weakened below the threshold for a tropical cyclone, the National Weather Service (NWS) said on Monday. This means that all tropical storm warnings issued for Southern California counties have been canceled.
Hilary made landfall in Baja California, Mexico, on Sunday as a Category 4 hurricane. However, it has since weakened as it moved north and is now a tropical storm. The National Weather Service said Hilary is expected to continue to weaken and dissipate over the next few days. However, it could still produce some rain and localized flooding in parts of Nevada and Oregon. Along with this news comes the call for prayer for all involved, from businesses to residences. They will all need help in the days ahead. We can only pray the next round of Hurricane Hilary updates will be that it’s finally over.

Responding to Hurricane Hilary updates with God’s Word
There will be many who will need comfort at this time. Here are some Bible verses you can read with them as you help them begin the restoration phase of their lives:
Psalm 23: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”
Isaiah 41:10: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
John 14:27: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
Romans 8:28: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Are you in the need of prayer for healing today? I think most of us need some form of healing from something. Why? We’re all wrestling with something in these days and times.
Reading today’s headlines I feel there is a deep need to come together in prayer for healing. First, there’s the situation going on with Bronny James, son of Lebron James. Recently he suffered a cardiac arrest. According to TMZ, He’s doing ok and everyone is breathing a sigh of relief. This situation show us all that it doesn’t matter who you are or how much money you have, when your child is suffering something that life or non-life threatening your world stops. There’s also praying for Ukraine, a place fighting for their lives to keep their country. Maybe you need prayer too. Are you dealing with a health scare of your own? Disappointment? Emotional scars? A prayer for healing begins the process of getting closer to Jesus during this difficult season you’re in.
Today’s Prayer for Healing
Heavenly Father,
We come before you today with humble hearts, seeking your divine presence and healing touch. Your word assures us that you are the Great Physician, the One who heals us from all our diseases (Psalm 103:3). We trust in your unfailing love and power to restore us.
In this moment of prayer, we lift up those who are in need of physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. Lord, we ask for your healing hand upon their lives, knowing that you are able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
As we meditate on your promises, we find comfort in the words of Isaiah: “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5). Thank you, Lord Jesus, for bearing our pain and suffering so that we may find healing in your precious name.We also draw strength from the words of James, who encourages us to pray for one another: “Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up” (James 5:14-15). We trust that as we join together in prayer, your healing power will be manifested in miraculous ways.
Lord, we pray for patience and endurance for those who are in the midst of their healing journey. Remind them that you are their refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). May they find comfort and peace in your presence, knowing that you will never leave them nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5).In closing, we declare your promises over our lives, in accordance with your perfect will. We believe that by your stripes we are healed, and we claim your healing power over our bodies, minds, and spirits. Strengthen our faith, Lord, and help us to trust in your loving plan for our lives. We offer this prayer in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Healer.
Amen.
May the peace of God that surpasses all understanding guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Trust in the Lord, and wait patiently for His healing touch (Psalm 37:7). Remember, He is always with you, guiding and comforting you through every step of your healing journey. Keep holding onto His promises, for He is faithful.
