When you’re fed up, the question isn’t how long you’re fed up. The question is how are you going to respond when you’re finally at your wit’s end?
I get it: You’ve tried every conflict resolution you know of and nothing has worked. One reason you need to realize is some people are still dealing with conflict the way they have dealt with it all their lives. Either they isolate, protest, or return the same energy and never rise above the issue when they’re fed up with the situation.

When You’re Fed Up: Taking Steps With God’s Word
What happens is in the end, there is no rest or reset anywhere, and they want YOU TO DEAL WITH IT. You can’t move these people, you cannot reason with them because this is how they want to deal with the conflict.
And oh yeah, they know their Bible. They always do.
So when you’re fed up, praying for relief, waiting for the Lord to respond, what do YOU do? For that answer, I turn to Psalm 121. In the first verse, we read the following:
“I lift up my eyes to the mountains, where does my help come from?”
Why in the world is the psalmist lifting his eyes to the mountains? Why look off to the distance? Because where he is looking is a change in focus. And the reason why he’s changing what he’s looking at is because he is not looking at the problems at hand but he is looking for the help. When you are looking for help, you have to shift your gaze from the problem to the Provider of said help – Jesus Christ! When you’re really fed up, this shift becomes essential.

The problem so many people have in dealing with their conflicts is they revert back to how they always deal with problems, and they never grow into what the Bible says! They isolate, protest, hold on to anger, because they want their feelings validated and their positions justified in BEING RIGHT. What happens if that never happens? The person dies? Your conflict moves away? How long do you hold on to it before you rise above it? Before you give me the words that have ruined society: “You have to understand,” remember this when you’re truly fed up:
Time will always do its job: Lead you to your grave. I know you had great expectations on them. Even though there are people who have done you worse, those people you were expecting to do better. They didn’t. They’re human.

A Prayer For Progress And To Progress
Lord, You know my heart. You see my intentions, my frustrations, and the deep love I have for the people around me. Sometimes I want so badly for those I care about to grow stronger, to find peace, and to make better choices. Yet when they don’t, my heart aches, and impatience starts to take root. I confess that I often want to control the outcome, to move things along faster than You are guiding them.
Father, help me to release that need for control. Remind me that I am not the author of anyone’s journey but my own. You are the One who writes every story, and You see far beyond what I can understand. Teach me to trust Your timing, even when it feels slow. Give me grace for those who are still finding their way, and remind me that my role is not to push but to pray, not to judge but to love, especially when I’m fed up.
Lord, help me also to grow. While I pray for progress in others, I realize that You are also shaping something in me, patience, humility, and deeper compassion. Let me be a reflection of Your peace rather than a source of pressure. Let my words build, not break. Let my silence give space for Your Spirit to move.
Most of all, remind me that You see it too, their struggle, my concern, our desire for change. Nothing escapes Your eyes. Help me rest in the truth that You are already working, even when I cannot see it. May I find contentment not in what changes, but in trusting the One who can.
In Your perfect timing and unfailing love, teach me how to progress in grace, in faith, and in peace. Amen.
