Richmond, Va. — Beginning Sept. 14 and continuing through Sept. 21, 2025, churches across Virginia observe Vision Virginia Week of Prayer. Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia (SBCV) leads this initiative so believers can support state missions with both prayer and giving. This event strengthens ministries and highlights specific themes each day.

Vision Virginia serves as SBCV’s dedicated state missions offering. It supplements the Cooperative Program and addresses spiritual and physical needs across Virginia. In fact, by participating, churches bolster outreach, advocacy, and compassion ministries alike.
What Vision Virginia Supports
Ministries supported by Vision Virginia include Church Planting, Deaf Leadership Training, Disaster Relief, English as a Second Language (ESL), and Food Distribution. Also included are Foster Care & Adoption Ministries, Internship Grants for Churches, Leadership Development, Mission Teams Training, Partnership Vision Trips, Pregnancy Support Centers, Revitalization, Seminary Scholarships, and Statewide Evangelism.
Each ministry meets real, urgent needs. For example, ESL programs help non-native English speakers integrate, while Internship Grants raise up future church leaders. Meanwhile, Disaster Relief and Foster Care ministries serve people in crisis, giving both care and hope. Churches that give and pray make these efforts possible.
Daily Themes & How Churches Can Participate
Each day during Sept. 14-21 follows a different theme:
- Day 1 — Disaster Relief
- Day 2 — Statewide Evangelism
- Day 3 — Food Distribution
- Day 4 — Leadership Development
- Day 5 — English as a Second Language (ESL)
- Day 6 — Internship Grants for Churches
- Day 7 — Pregnancy Support Centers
- Day 8 — Foster Care
Churches can engage in several ways. First, set aside time in worship services, Sunday school, or small groups so people focus on theme-based prayer. Additionally, use the prayer guides, video stories, and SBCV resources to help members pray with clarity and compassion. Moreover, encourage giving to the Vision Virginia offering, which fuels these ministries and allows outreach to expand.
Believers who commit to both prayer and giving amplify the impact. When churches unite, they serve neighbors, strengthen leaders, and share Christ’s love beyond church walls. Visit the SBCVA here.
