Finding Faith means strength in weakness today. Today we travel to 2 Corinthians 12:9. I commend you for “digging deep” to be strong. Let’s lean on the Lord today.
When Weakness Meets God’s Strength
We’ve all had those days when it feels like everything depends on us. We push, plan, and try to make life work, only to feel worn out by it all. That’s where God steps in. The truth about strength in weakness is that when we stop pretending we have it all together, we make room for God to move.
His grace meets us right where we are, not where we wish we were. Strength in weakness reminds us that even when life seems too heavy, God’s power is steady and sure. We don’t have to hide our flaws. He uses them to show His strength.

Bible Reading To Consider
2 Corinthians 12:9 :
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
What Strength in Weakness Really Means
Most of us are taught to be strong, to keep going no matter what. But God’s version of strength flips that upside down. It’s not about pretending everything’s fine. It’s about being honest about our fears, struggles, and limits, and trusting that His grace is enough. When we stop stressing about things that haven’t happened yet (..and those that have…) and start leaning on Him, we experience real peace.
This idea of strength in weakness isn’t just a nice phrase; it’s a way to live. It means when life breaks you down, you don’t stay down, you let God lift you. When you rely on Him, your weakness becomes a doorway for His strength. That’s where reliance and surrender meet: you depend on God’s power instead of your own, and you let Him write the rest of the story.
How It Shapes Our Faith
Think about the people God used in the Bible. Moses doubted himself. Paul wrestled with his own thorn in the flesh. Even Jesus, in His humanity, showed complete surrender in the garden before the cross. In each story, God’s strength showed up where human power ran out.
Maybe you’re facing something that feels too big right now. Maybe it’s financial pressure, sickness, or fear about what’s next. Remember, God’s power shows up best when we finally let go of trying to control everything. Strength in weakness becomes the heartbeat of your faith.

Why This Matters Right Now
We live in a world that tells us to be strong all the time. But faith teaches us something better: We can rest in God’s strength when ours runs out. Instead of pretending we’re fine, we can admit when we’re not, and that’s where healing begins.
When you practice surrender, you’re not giving up, you’re giving over. Reliance on God doesn’t make you weaker. It roots you deeper. That’s the lesson in strength in weakness: you don’t need to be perfect to be powerful. You just need to be present and open to God’s grace.

What You Can Do Today
Take a quiet moment. Think about one area where you’ve been trying to do it all on your own. Whisper this prayer: “Lord, I give this to You. Be strong where I am weak.” That simple act of surrender opens the door to peace.
And if you need a reminder, share your story with someone. Sometimes, the way God strengthens others starts with you being honest about how He strengthened you.
Finding Faith in Liturgy: A Moment of Prayer
- Call: When we’re weak, God is still strong.
Response: His power holds us steady. - Call: When we let go of control, we find peace.
Response: His grace meets us in surrender. - Call: Our weakness is not failure.
Response: It’s a chance for God’s glory to shine. - Call: May we rest in His strength today.
Response: And walk with confidence in His care.

Lord, we come to You with honest hearts. We’ve tried to hold everything together, and it’s left us tired. Thank You for reminding us that Your grace is enough. Help us let go of the things we can’t fix and rest in Your hands. Teach us that strength in weakness is not about power or perfection, it’s about trusting You in every moment. We give You our worries, our exhaustion, and our fears about what’s next. Fill those empty spaces with Your peace. Make us people who rely on Your strength, who surrender daily, and who encourage others to do the same. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
