When something is described as “invasive,” it means that it has a tendency to intrude or spread aggressively into areas where it is not naturally or originally present. This term is often used to refer to non-native species of plants, animals, or microorganisms that are introduced to a new environment, where they can cause harm to the local ecosystem, economy, or human health. An example right now are the Invasive Hammerhead Worms reported in the Washington D.C. area.
The danger? Reports suggest these worms have toxins that when touched, can harm humans and pets. This is the problem with something that’s “invasive”: It presents a unique danger that it brings to the environment that wasn’t there before. This is what sin does! When you engage in sin you are introducing to your environment or to God’s Kingdom an element that brings with it dangerous elements. And like the Invasive Hammerhead Worms, sin also can cause harm.

Pray against the invasive spirit of Sin right now
How does this happen? Through it’s evil process. James explains it like this:
But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.
James 1:14-16
Introducing anything contrary to God’s Word and Will in your life is sin. When we do this, these elements cannot and will never mix with the light of Jesus Christ. As a result, they are invasive. Make the choice today to abide in the Kingdom of God the right way. While we don’t know what brought about Invasive Hammerhead Worms to appear in certain areas of the country, we are aware of the damage they can cause. With that thought, avoid sin when you see it, and do introduce it. Be blessed.
