2 Corinthians 1:3-4: When it Rains it Pours, so Have Cover

This past week may have been difficult for you, but it’s Friday right? We made it through another week where things may not have gone completely our way.

That’s the case for me. This week, it took everything to protect the joy of my home from the invasion of confusion, frustration, hurt, disappointment. Even up the point of writing this post the battle continues on. It’s hard to describe. Maybe it’s the same for you too.

Maybe it feels like this storm on the horizon. You have beauty, but you can see your peace about to be drenched. But I thank God for 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 which reads:

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

I’m thankful for a Father who comforts me, like he does you in these times. Even better, you remain able to comfort others because you are comforted! So here’s a prayer for us out there “going through it”:

Dear Heavenly Father,

As I reflect on the challenges of this past week, I am grateful for Your guidance and strength that carried me through to this Friday. In the midst of confusion, frustration, hurt, and disappointment, Your presence shielded the joy of my home. Even as I write these words, the battle persists, and it’s a struggle to articulate its depth. I find solace in knowing that I am not alone in this experience, for You understand my turmoil.

Like a looming storm on the horizon, the threat of losing peace is daunting. Yet, in this moment, I find comfort and strength in the words of 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. I praise You, the God of all comfort, who embraces us in our troubles and grants us the ability to console others with the same comfort we receive from You.

Thank You for being a source of solace and strength, not only for me but for all who are enduring similar challenges. May Your presence bring peace and assurance to our hearts as we navigate through these difficulties. I offer this prayer in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ.

Amen.
